[Cr] vs sYnth — The SLQ2 Grand Final is upon us!

Road to the Final: [Cr]

Crazy Rail finished the group stage in 2nd place in Group B. The team collected 8 points, ending the group stage with a 2–2 record and an 8–4 map score. Their second-place finish was possible partly thanks to the map they took from sYnth in their direct group-stage match. As it later turned out, that single map had a major impact on the final standings.

Crazy Rail’s situation had become more complicated earlier after a loss to the unpredictable bn — bez nazwy. That result made the fight for positions in Group B much more tense. However, [Cr] stayed in the race, used their strengths well and ultimately secured a position that gave them a strong route through the play-offs.

During the group stage, Crazy Rail defeated BoD and rage 3:0, while also putting up a strong fight against sYnth and taking the only map sYnth lost in the entire group stage. That match showed that [Cr] had the potential to compete with the strongest teams.

In the quarterfinal, [Cr] faced -q2e-. Crazy Rail won the match 2:0 and confidently booked their place in the semifinal. The team showed mature play, good organization and efficiency in the most important moments. After vA later withdrew from the remainder of the season, the SLQ2 administration decided that [Cr] would advance directly to the Grand Final.

For Crazy Rail, this is a huge opportunity. A team that had to fight for every detail in the group stage now stands one match away from winning the most important title of the season.

Road to the Final: sYnth

sYnthesis has had an impressive season. sYnth finished the group stage in 1st place in Group B, with a perfect 4–0 match record and an 11–1 map score. They were one of the most consistent teams of the entire competition.

In the group stage, sYnth defeated rage, bn, BoD and [Cr]. It is worth noting that despite their excellent record, the only map sYnth lost in the group stage came against Crazy Rail. That adds extra meaning to the final, as these two teams have already met once this season and [Cr] showed that they can find answers against the favorite.

In the quarterfinal, sYnth faced PING and won 2:0. It was a match fully under sYnthesis control and confirmed their strong form and preparation for the play-offs.

Their biggest test came in the semifinal against =PFH=. sYnth were down 0:2, but showed huge character, composure and quality. After five maps, they turned the match around, winning 3:2 and securing their place in the Grand Final. It was the first full BO5 series of the SLQ2 season and one of the most exciting matches of the entire competition.

A Final with History Behind It

The Grand Final between [Cr] and sYnth is not only a match for the title. It is also a rematch from the group stage, where sYnth won 2:1. Crazy Rail were the only team able to take a map from the Group B leaders.

This time, however, the stakes are much higher. There is no room for mistakes, no second chances and no space for calculation. This is the final match of the season, and it will crown the first champion of Super Liga Quake II.

sYnth enter the final as the team with the best record of the season and fresh from a huge semifinal comeback. [Cr], on the other hand, have had more time to prepare and can approach the final with full focus and a clear plan against an opponent they already know well.

What Can Decide the Final?

Map picks, tempo control and mental strength may be crucial. sYnth have shown that even at 0:2 down, they can return to a match and win the whole series. Crazy Rail have proven that they can play effectively against the strongest teams and are not afraid of facing favorites.

In a final like this, every frag, every RA control, every Quad and every late-map decision can matter. This may be a match where the championship is decided by details.
